CHARGES OF THEFT.
TWO CASES REMANDED.
"1 will ask for a. remand, as the police would liko to make further inquiries," said Detective-Sergeant Kelly in the Police Court yesterday, when Benjamin William Berryman, aged 49, labourer, was charged with stealing two safety razors valued at 4s, tho property of a city departmental store. The magistrate, Mr. F. K. Hunt, remanded accused until Friday.
A plea of guilty was entered by Thomas Sheridan, aged 22, labourer,-when charged with stealing a suitcase, two suits of clothes, a pair of trousers and six shirts, of a, total value of £lO, the property of V. IT. A. Chamberlain. He was remanded for sentence until Monday.
