OBITUARY.
MR. G. COLLINGRIDGE.
(Received June 2. 5.5 p.m.) SYDNEY. Juno 5. The death has occurred of Mr. George do Tourcey C'ollingridgc, an artist, and formerly a teacher of painting. Mr. George Collitiftridgo was born in France, and when ho was 19 joined the Papal Zouaves and fought against Garibaldi. He studied painting and wood engraving and in 1879 emigrated to Australia. He taught at the Technical College, Sydney, for 10 years. Mr. Collingridge was an author as well as artist, and published " Tho Discovery of Australia," ''Round.and llound the World," "Aventures d'Alice an Pays des Merveilles" and " Form and Colour." His age was 84.
