SHEEP-STEALING CASE.
EXPLANATION BY LABOURER. "TO PAY A PRIVATE DEBT." [BY TELEGRAPH. —PRESS ASSOCIATION;] TIMARU. Tuesday. In tho T'olire Court to-dnv Percy Clifford Holland, labourer, was charged with having at Beautiful Valley, near Geraldine, stolen 90 sheep valued at £sl Bs, the property of Smith Bros. Accused, who took the sheep from the paddock and trucked them to the Burnside sale, as he explained, to pay a private debt, pleaded guilty and was committed to the Supreme Court for sentence.
