LEAGUE FOOTBALL.

PROTEST AGAINST OVERTIME. MATCH TO BE REPLAYED. REQUEST FROM MANGERE CLUB. The protest of the Richmond. Club against Ma list Old Boys was discussed in committee at last night's meeting of the Auckland Rugby League. Richmond claimed the game on the ground that overtime was played nnfl that Marist scored the winning try two minutci after time was up. Evidence was taken ironi the official timekeeper and the referee. The chairman. Mr. G. Rhodes, subsequently stated that a decision was made to replay the match. Tho manager of IZR broadcasting station submitted by letter the possibilities of broadcasting League matches from Carlaw Park. The matter was deferred for one week and in the meantime a conference will be arranged. A deputation was heard from the Mangere Club seeking affiliation under its own name instead of an amalgamation with Ellcrslio. Several speakers said the Maoris were keen to play League football, but wished to retain their own identity. After a lungthy discussion it was decided to arrange a conference with the Ellerslie Club and in the meantime Mangero would play for one week with Ellerslie. Tho reinstatement of W. J. Francis and C. G. Culpan were approved. The Northcote Club appealed on behalf of D. Moore, Ponsonby. for the uplifting of tho suspension placed on him last season. Tho letter stated that Moore was to coach the juniors. The request was referred to the judicial committee.
