DEVONPORT CROQUET CLUB.
In brilliant sunshine the Devonport Croquet Club held its closing day for the season on Saturday. The president, Mrs. Creagmile, assisted by her daughter, Mrs. Bayly, provided tho afternoon tea. and she also donated prizes for progiessive croquet. The winners were: A grade, Mrs. Swan; B grade, Mrs. Robertson. Afternoon tea was Served in the pavilion and the prizes won during the season were presented by the president. Tlrose were as follows -—Championship doubles, Miss G. Duder and Mrs. Swan; B championship, Mrs. Robertson; runnerup. Mrs. S. Vaile; handicap doubles, Mrs. Palairet and Mrs. Buchanan ; runnersup, Mrs. C. Prime and Mrs. Vaile; handicap singles, Mrs. Buchanan; progressive A grade, Mrs. Palairet; B grade, Mrs. J. Spicer; president's prize, A grade, Mrs. Palairet; B grade, Mrs. Foster. Among those present were:—Mrs. Creagmile. Mrs. F. Prime, Mrs, R. Duder, Mrs. Seal on. Mrs. Lydford, Mrs. ,T. Spicer, Mrs. Palairet, Mrs. Vaile, Mrs. Foster, Mrs. Bayly. Mrs. Newbegin, Mrs. Cooper, Mrs. Flinn, Mrs. Swan, Mrs. Pa rev, Mrs. D. Harvey, Mrs. Lacy, Mrs. Buchanan, Mrs. Robertson. Mrs. Angove, Mrs. Parker. Misses Marks. M. Duder and Patterson. Mrs. Palairet thanked Mrs. Creagmile for her valuable services throughout the season.
