ANNUAL BALL.

FUNCTION AT PAPATOETOE.

Tho annual dance and presentation of trophies of the Papatoetoe Bowling and Croquet Clubs was hold in the Town Ilall on Friday evening, there being over 200 members and friends present. Among tho visitors were the president of the Auckland Bowling Centre, Mr. J. M. Thomson, and members of the executive, Messrs. J. W. Hardley, 11. Sheath, 11. C. Clarke and 11. Yeoman. A welcome was extended to the visitors by the club president, Mr. J. Franklin. A programme of dancing was interspersed with musical items. Songs were given by Miss Thomas arid Mr. Reynolds; Master Norman Dawc played pianoforte solos and Mr. E. 11. Burton entertained with humorous items. Tho trophies won in competition during the. year were presented during the evening.
