FAREWELL AFTERNOON.
Miss Tuthill was the guest of honour at a social afternoon held on Friday at tho Huapai school. Miss Tuthill, who has been headmistress of the school for some years past, has been transferred to the Napier Street school in Auckland, where she will take up the duties of infant mistress. Janet Steele, captain of the school, presented Miss Tuthill with an electric table lamp on behalf of the scholars and parents. Later, the scholars amiised the audience with a presentation of the play " Jerome Goes to the Pantomime. Mr. J. McCall, chairman of the School Committee, distributed the special prizes won by the scholars during the past year. Before afternoon tea was served Hazel Malins presented Miss Tuthill with a beautiful bouquet of autumn flowers. Mrs. McCall was also the recipient of presented by Uua Adams.
