TE AWAMUTU.
A pleasant day was spent on the lawns by members of the Te Awamutu Croquet Club as a termination to tho day's play. The games of progressive croquet and target croquet were keenly contested and thoroughly enjoyed. The prizes were donated by the president, Mrs. S. Dowds, and were won by the following:—A, Mrs. C. G. Downes, 1; A, Mrs. S. J. Nobes, 2; B, Mrs. ljf. C. Rainey, 1; B, Mrs. A. A. Reese, 2; hidden number, Mrs. W. Jeffery; consolation, Mrs. M. fT. Tims; target, Mrs. F. W. Bevin. After tea had been served, Mrs. Collins presented the trophies won during the season, the winners being as follows. — A championship, Mrs. G. Dowds, runner up, Mrs. W. Davis; A handicap singles, Mrs. G. Dowds; A handicap doubles. Mesdaiues Jourdain and A and B doubles. Mrs. Davis and Miss Savill; best B player, Mrs. A. J. McGovern; best C player. Miss Savill. The president presented Mrs. Collins, on behalf of the members of the club, with a crystal salad bowl in appreciation of her long and valued services as treasurer of the club and as one of its oldest members. Those present were: Mesdames Dowds, Davis, Downes. Bat (son, Noonan, Collins, Jeffery, McArthnr, Young, Cruickshank, Whyte, Tiins, Nicholson. Burchell, Reese, Nobes, Goodall, Jourdain, Salter. Bevin, Rainey, McCarroll, Shepherd, Forsyth, Miss Savill, Miss Battson.
