YACHT TEDDY ASHORE.
CAUGHT ON' COAST IN GALE. LITTLE DAMAGE SUSTAINED. HOPES OF REFLOATING TO-DAY. Dragging her anchor, tho Norwegian yacht Teddy was blown ashore in a southeasterly gale at Orakawa Bay, near Russell, early yesterday morning. Slight damage was done to her rudder and stern, but she is now on a sandy bottom and in a safe position. It is expected that the yacht will be refloated to-day. The Teddy had been sheltering at Orakawa Bay for several days awaiting favourable weather to continue her voyage from Sydney to Auckland. For the past two days a south-easterly gale has been blowing, but it was reported last evening to be abating. The yacht will remain in the bay until the weather moderates. One i f the crew left Russell by service car on Wednesday evening for Auckland.
