TASMAN YACHTS.
TEDDY WEATHER-BOUND. RANGI ON THE WAY BACK. Owing to adverse winds on the northern coast the Norwegian yacht Teddy did not reach Auckland 011 Saturday afternoon as was expected. After leav-ing-Manponui early on Friday morning Teddy encountered a hard head wind from the south-east near the Needles, north of the Bay of Islands, where Mr. Erling Tambs, owner of the vessel, decided to put. about and return to Wliangaroa for shelter. The movements of the yacht were not widely known in Auckland on Saturday and many motorists drew up along the Waterfront Road in order to witness tha welcome in the harbour. The arrangements made by yachtsmen for the afternoon were postponed indefinitely. A Press Association message from Sydney last evening stated that the New Zealand yacht Rangi cleared Sydney Heads bound for Auckland at 5 p.m. on Saturday. At the time thero was a light east-south-east breeze and a smooth sea. The Kangi is expected to reach Auckland about May 20.
