He has no alliance with any clique, combine or ticket, and will continue io maintain independence of -thought and action in the , Public Weal. QNEHUNGA ELECTION. , The figures in my manifesto are not erroneous. They agree with those of the town clerk and are taken from the balancesheet. Mr. Morton, however, omits to mention an amount of approximately £7OO for relief wages held back from the men until after March 31, so that the bank overdraft should appear in a more favourable light. That £'7oo, when added to the town clerk's total, brings the amount spent on works last year up to £14,114, or £ll4 in excess of the figure quoted by me, proving how moderate I have been. If there are any cash assets other than overdue rates, why are they not included in the balance-sheet? 1 shall further elaborate this question at tho Royal Oak To-night and at To Papapa To-morrow Night and will also deplore the impropriety of dragging the town clerk into a heated election controversy. (Signed) J. E. GREEN r PA K A PUNA MAY ORA LTY.—Takapuna 's J. Public Debt. £411,761; Overdraft, £10.827; Rates Owing, £15,000; Loans Board Refuses Loan £2500. Be Wise— VOTE - GUINIVEN.
