CASE OF ALLEGED FORGERY. FIREMAN DESERTS FROM SHIP. "The necessary extradition papers are mi the way from England now and we : lirmld keep him in custody until they arrive," riid Detective-Sergeant Kelly in the Police Court on Saturday, in asking for a further remand in the rase in which Wilfred Wilson f-egge, aged 26, an English solicitor, was charged with vagrancy and, further, with committing forgery in England nn or about January 15, 1930. Ac<med was remanded until May 30. A ship's fireman, Alfred Fail-brass, aged 31. nf Kngland. was charged with deserting from the S.S. Tamaroa at Auckland on April 21. "The company has been put to a great deal of expenso by these deserters," said a representative of the Shaw, Savill and Albion Line. "Accused's position has now probably been filled." Accused was convicted and sentenced to 14 days' imprisonment. James McNeil, labourer, aged 21, appeared on a charge of forging the name of J. W. 1 [ill to a cheque for £l5O on May I. lie was remanded until May 7 for observation.
Charged with vagrancy, Grace Richards, aged 28, was remanded until to-day on the application of Detective-Sergeant Kelly, who raid she was a recent arrival from Australia.
