OTAHUHU EX-SOLDIERS.
THE ANNUAL REUNION. The annual reunion of the. Otahuhu Returned Soldiers' Club was hold on Saturday evening, (lie president, Mr. If. L. Garland, presiding over., a gathering of over 200. Among the visitors were Major-General Sir (George Richardson and representatives of kindled associations. Replying to the loast of " Imperial Forces," Sir Georgo Richardson dealt with the futuro policy of the relumed men's movement and staled that while it was non-political there were national questions that demanded serious thought from every returned man. " There are four points on which wo should centre our attention," he said. " These are unemployment, land settlement, our defence system and the League of Nations. There is no simple solution for unemployment, Ijut all of you who have seen the lands of Belgium and France divided into little farms, and see to-day large areas of land in New Zealand lying undeveloped, will agree with me that land settlement is the ojjvious way of handling our unemployment problem." During the evening, Mr. G. V. Pearco, a foundation member of the club, was made a life member in recognition of liis servicos.
