MUNICIPAL ELECTIONS.

CANDIDATES IN CITY. FEWER TO CHOOSE FROM. Tiio problem before Auckland city electors at the polling boot lis on Wednesday will be a comparatively simple one, so far as the City Council elections are concerned, in contrast to the election of two years ago. In 1929 tliero were four candidates for the Mayoralty and 61 for the 21 scats on the council. Oil this occasion the contest for the Mayoralty has become a straightout one between Mr. G. W. Hutchison, a member of tho present council, and Mr. 11. G. R. jMason, M.P., a representative of the Labour Party. The choice of members of the City Council has to be made from 35 candidates.
