COPY OF APOLOGY WHICH APPEARED in the APRIL ISSUE of " THE N.Z. DRAPER." In the March issue of " The N.Z. Draper, on page 13, there appeared the following paragraph, forwarded by the Wanganui Branch of the N.£. Federation of Drapers, Clothiers and Boot Retailers:— "REMITS: Woolworths. That in of the fact that this firm's mode of business is purely that of an ordinary retail ?tore, the Conference be requested to investigate the circumstances under which evasion of the Shop Assistants' Award is effected." Upon inquiry we find that there is not the slightest foundation for the suggestion that Woolworths (New Zealand) Limited evade the Shop Assistants" Award. The Award is and always has been fully observed by the Company at all its Branches and in many cases wages paid by the Company exceed the rates provided in such award.
