MINISTER FAREWELLED.
ELLERSLIE ANGLICANS.
A large gathering of about 300 members of the Greater Ellerslie parish mot on Thursday evening to bid farewell to the Rev. It. S. Stanton, who is leaving the district for the Otahuhu charge. Archdeacon G. Mac Murray, who represented the Archbishop, spoke of his long association with Mr. Stanton, dating from the latter's curate days, and paid a tribute to his energy and enthusiasm. Other speakers were Mr. E. C. Brown, people's warden, the Rev. S. E. Hill, Monsignor Lane and Mr. A. Milliken, chairman of the Ellerslie Town Board. Mr. and Mrs. Stanton wero presented with a canteen of cutlery and a china dinner set as a token of esteem from the whole parish. Mr. Stanton was also the recipient of a silver cigarette case. Opportunity was taken to farewell the curate, Mr. C. Palmer, who is accompanying Mr. Stanton. A presentation of a silver inkstand was made to Mr. Palmer.
