SUPPORT FOR MR. SCULLIN.
BEASLEY GROUP'S REASON,
CANBERRA, April 17
In the House of Representatives Mr. H. P. Lazzarini, one of tlio Beasley group,' said Mr. Scullin's Government would never use machine-guns. That was one reason why his group kept it in power. If Iho Government lost office it would be through the defection of members of its party, not through his grouj).
Mr. /Lazzarini added that the Prime Minister had greatly changed his attitude. Some ago he would have been behind Mr. J. T. Lang, but now he was prepared to kick him out.
Mr./J. M. Gabb, one of Mr. Lyons' supporters, interjected: "Yet you keep .him in power." Mr. Lazzarini: Yes, because your side would be worse. -We are in the unhappy position of having to support two sots of >" duds." We therefore have to decide which is the better of two bad lots. We have decided that the Government is the J>etter for the moment.,
