GALLOP BY JUST AN IDEA. [from our own correspondent.] WANGANUI, Thursday. The weather this morning was fine for training operations and the outside of the course proper was available for those doing fast work, the track being in.splendid order, but not as fast as usual. Auctioneer and Kowhatu did pace work.. They have not been asked for anything serious yet, although they both look as if they will r.ot take long to get ready for tlcir nflxt appearance, which will be at Hav/fra early next month.

After breakfast Arvada ran half ft milo in 525. This smart filly is set down to contest the Electric Hack Handicap, fivo furlongs, at Stratford noxt Thursday. She has 7.12. and may be seen to advantage. Arvada opened her winning account at Stratford last New Year's Day, so it will be 1 interesting to see how she fares thcro next week.

With an engagement at Martoli in view. Hinewai pleased by the way she slipped over four furlongs, although she was not asked to make time.

Just nn Idea, who is to contest Iho Autumn Handicap at. Trentlinm on Saturday, was accompanied over six furlongs by Takahue, whoso advantage at the start was in 9omo measure counterbalanced by the fact that ho carried more weight. They finished together in 1.19, and it could be considered n. satisfactory effort on the part of both. Takahue is engaged at Stratford. Knollmere, who is not showing any illeffects from his recent racing, ran sis furlongs nicely in 1.19. W. Dwycr has nominated Knollmero and Zarene for Marton. Claiming an engagement in the Hack Hurdles at Morton, Tho Warden cleared four fences in good style. Judging by the way ho has been schooling, it would not be surprising to find The Warden winning another raco for Mr. F. Bristol before tho season ends. TE AROHA TROTTING CLUB. ENTRIES NEXT WEDNESDAY.
