FILM STAR'S UGLINESS.
BROKEN NOSE BRINGS FAME. " MUST KEEP HIMSELF UGLY." The death of Mr. Louis Wolheim. the film star, is reported from New \ork. Alarn\ed by his weight of 14st. 41b., he started reducing some time ago, with the result that lie fell ill and died suddenly at Hollywood on March 18. Mr. Wolheim owed his fame and for tune in part to a broken nose, suffered during a game of college football. MiLionel Bnrrymore. the actor, met lurn and remarked. " With a face like yours you would make u fortune in films, Mr Wjollieini. who was llien ;m engineer, lo 'k him at his word and obtained a part in Mr. Barrvmore's film " Ihe Jest. Although Mr. Wolheim was regarded l, y film enthusiasts as a living d-monstia lion of the aiu-ient caveman, lie si.lll riently resented his ungainly nose to seek its beautilication. But his employer oh tained an injunction against him in which it was stipulated that he must keep himself ugly.
