MANY HUGE FIGURES. GEORGE BANCROFT'S PITTANCE. De Sylva, Brown and Henderson, the trio of composers who wrote the music for "Just Imagine," will receive £50,000, together with 40 per cent, of the profits from tho as yet untitled musical picture which they are writing for Gloria Swanson. Miss Swanson will receive £40,000 for her engagement, to which will be added her share in the profits of .United Artists, the firm which will distribute the picture. Ben Lyon, who plays the leading role opposite Miss Swanson, will receive £IO,OOO,
George Bancroft argued for a long time with the Paramount Company regarding the renewal of his contract. He demanded £30,000 for each picture in which he appeared, while the company wished to pay him a mere pittance of £16,000. Bancroft usually appears in four pictures a year, but he apparently does not regard £64,000 a year as a sufficient income for a gentleman of his talents.
