HOSPITAL AUXILIARY
A MONTH OF PROGRESS.
Further progress and activity was reported at the monthly meeting of v the. council of the Auckland Hospital Auxiliary, which was held this week. The Mayoress, Mrs. A. D. Campbell, presided.
A new library had been formed in the Women's Infirmary hv tho Oneliunga branch, each member of tho committee having given one book, wliilo the branch itself had donated 22 books. Two motor drives, organised by Mrs. Neill and Mrs. Tregina respectively, had been held and a successful concert was organised at tho infirmary.
A fcto held by tho Mount Eden branch had realised tho sum of £7O. This branch was also assisting a case for St. Helens Hospital, paying the entrance feo and holping to supply necessary garments. Tho Purchasing and Distributing Committee had received several 'parcels from the women's institutes, Tho depot iiad received garments from tho Now Lynn, To Atatu and Glen Eden Women's Institutes, while 58 garments had been received from outsido workers. Thirtytwo patients had been taken to their homes from tho hospital by the 'transport Committee, 42 families were helped with clothing and eight families supplied with food orders.
A vote of thanks was passed to Mr. A. D. Campbell for his services to the auxiliary. An expression of appreciation to tho chemists who had sent invalid and medical food to tho depot was also passed. Members of 'tho committee agreed to assist tho . Mayoress with the Poppy Day street collection. A letter of appreciation was received from the matron of tho Napipr Hospital for tho last parcel sent by tho City Sowing Circle. .
