PAPATOETOE V. HOWICK. An inter-club match played between the Papatoetoe and Ilowick Croquet Clubs resulted as follows, Papatoetoe players being mentioned first in each caseMesdames Cowling, Farrand, 40, v. Mrs. F. Roberts, Miss Nixon, 35; Mrs. S. McCullough, Miss Runciman, 46, v. Mrs. Sutherland, Miss Gill, 42; Mesdames Franklin, Shepherd, 50, v. Mesdames Amiss, Jameson, 23; Mesdames Foster, Buchanan, 68, v. .Mesdames Alexander, Candy, 17. Totals: Papatoetoe, 204; HowLck, 117. SOUTH SUBURBAN TOURNEY. Fine weather favoured the opening of tho Auckland South Suburban Croquet Association's annual tournament at Papakura on Thursday. The greens, wero in splendid order and there was a good entry of competitors. Tho tournament will extend over several days, the first day's results being as follows: GRADE A. Section A.—Mesdames Bates and McEnteo (Papakura) beat Mesdames Tong and Elmsley (Wajuku); Mesdames Osborne and Robertson (Manurewa) beat Mesdames Forbes (Manurewa) and Graham (Clevedon); Mesdames Barriball and Neil (Waiuku) beat Mesdames Tong and Elmsley; Mesdames Bates and McEnteo beat Mesdames Osborne and Robertson. Section B.—Mesdames Coxhead and Gallaher (Manurewa) beat Mesdames Tasker and Andrews (Papakura); Mrs. Neil and Miss Neil (Waiuku) beat Mesdames Munro and Bell (Clevedon); Mesdames Coxhead and Gallaher beat Mrs. King (Buckland) and Miss Cooper (Papakura) ; Mrs. Neil and Miss Neil bent Mesdames Tasker and Andrews. Grado B.— Mesdames Whitton and Brown (Manurewa,) beat Mesdames Wright and Butcher (Buckland); Mesdames Mullins and Whelan (Papakura) beat Mesdames Whyte and Wood (Manurewa) ; Mesdames Whitton and Brown beat Mesdames Sutton and Dickey (Papakura) ; Mesdames Wright and Butcher beat Mesdames Stevens and Baird (Clevedon);
