OLD RAILWAY STATION SITE.
Sir,—With reference to the site where I lie old railway station stood, it seems to bo, generally understood that this land will be used for the erection of offices and other buildings. It, is high time the public were made to realise how vitally important it is that a central site like this should be reserved for a motorcar parking space and thus relieve tho growing congestion of traffic in Queen Street duo to lack of parking space. Tim site is ideal for a general parking space, having at least six outlets and being excellently situated for the convenient<> of shoppers in Queen Street. Should the harbour bridge at any future date become a reality, there would be heavy motor traffic coming to the city from that side. Further, the site could be utilised as a general embarking and alighting base for buses, with adequate side shelters or waiting-rooms for passengers in wet weather. C.M.G.
