SEASON AT HAMILTON. UNION'S ANNUAL MEETING. [IIKJM Ot It OWN - f OnntCSPONDENT.] HAMILTON". Tuesdoy. The annual meeting of tho Hamilton Rugby Union was hold this evening, the president Mr. AV. T. C. Christie, presiding. The report slated that (ho union was now negotiating with tho Hamilton Domain Hoard for a renewable lease of Rugby Park. The New Zealand lttigby Union had advised that, as the proposed 21 years' lease had no right of renewal or compensation clauses, it was unable to advance the loan of £2OOO for tho purpose of erecting a permanent grandstand. Of the nine senior representative fixtures last season, including seven challenges for the Peace Cup, all had been won by Hamilton. Tho club championship competition for tho Sugc Cup had been won by Franktou, while Marist had been awarded tho Clarke Cup and Franklon the Binnie Cup. The committee's report stated that tho season's operation of tho players' insurance fund had shown a, loss of £72. The total deficiency to dato was £2tio. which had been paid out of tho union's funds, The balance-sheet showed a profit of £'3o9 on tho year's working. it was decided to recommend to the incoming management committee that tho Clarke Cup competition bo played in ono round on tho first three Saturdays of the season.
