ONEHUNGA BOROUGH.
EOUND FINANCIAL POSITION. "The financial position of the Onchunga p.r,rough Council is very sound," said the Mayor, Mr." E. Morton, at a meeting of the council last evening. "Considering the times/ we have gone through in our two years of office and the amount, of permanent, work carried out, by revenue funds, ratepayers can lie gratified with the position."
The town clerk, Mr. H. A. Yockney. reported that rates totalling £32,535 had lieen struck at the beginning of the financial year, and there was also ,£4492 in •arrears outstanding. During the year ended on March 31, a total of £30,257 had been collected and tho amount outstanding was now £5992. The percentage collected in the past, year had been 84 per cent., compared with 90 per cent, in 1929-30. The request of tlie Auckland Rugby football IJnron for the use of four grounds at Onehunga during tho coming season jwas granted.
