INSANE MURDERER.
ESCAPE AND RECAPTURE. Edward Nicholas Kelly, aged 46. who was sentenced to death in 1928 for the murder of Police-Sergeant Alexander Mark, escaped from a mental hospital at Perth. Western Australia, on March 28, but was found in the grounds of tho institution before a police search party could be organised. The sentence was commuted ,to imprisonment. for lifo liecause doctors disagreed about Kellv's sanity. lie escaped in October, 1929, but returned of his own accord several days later, after attending the centenury Royal Show disguised as an old woman.
