MOTOR-CYCLIST KILLED.
COLLISrON WITH CAR. FATALITY NEAR HAWERA. [BT TELEGRAPH.—PRESS ASSOCIATION".] HAWERA, Monday. A resident of Patea, Mr. William Hansen, aged about 55, a wharf labourer, was killed on the Manawapou River Bridge, on the Main South Road, shortly before noon to-day when the motor-cycle he was riding collided with a car driven by a Maori, J. Rowe, of Patea, who was proceeding to the Hawera trotting meeting with two companions.
Mr. Hansen was returning alone to Patea from Te Roti, near Hawera, where he had spent the week-end with his wife.
