NOTES ON THE FORM. FINE EFFORT BY CHARMEUSE. BLACK DUKE FINISHES WELL. [KY TELEGRAPH. —OWN CORRESPONDENT.] CJIRISTCnURCH, Monday. Antrim Boy had a very easy win in the Kildnre Hurdles at Riccarton to-day. He v.-ns made a even-money favourite, in the absence of Amorist, who is suffering -from soreness. Aberfeld.v was i:oing well behind the winner when he fell at the last fence. Golden Wings had a very easy win in the Champagne Stakes. He led on to the course proper with an appreciable advantage from Cricket Bat and was not extended in the run home. The winner of the Autumn Plate, Sharp Thorn, was recently sold by Sir Charles Clifford and this was his first win. lie is only a three-year-old and is likely lo develop into a high-class winner.

The Russley Plate showed the Woodvilletmined Gallant Fox in a favourable light. He took charge inside the distance, and ran home nil easy winner from Chief Cook, who got up to beat Waiwenc on the post. Azalea, by Chief Ruler— Baylock, who cost Mr G. D. Greenwood 550 guineas 08 a yearling, ran a promising nice : nto fourth place, C'narmc u-e was responsible for a sterling effort in the Great Easter. She was ne.ir the tail of the field early in the race and hid six horses in front cf her entering ilie straight. Then she came with a great ji.n and worried Great Star out of tlm honours in the last few strides. Great Slur thus repeated his performance of two years i.go when he was cimilarly beaten by Cimabuo Mount Boa was one of iho lust to leave (he barrier, but in another stride would ;,!ive beaten ('.rent S! u. This points to I,is prospects to-morrow. Autopay and Arrow I.ad were very disappointing after being in the lending division until well into the straight. Limerick was tailed off early, hut finished moderately well. Ho will be definitely retired after 'he meeting. True Shaft was solidly supported for the Coiii tenay Handicap, but did nol finish i>h well as wr.s expected. Black Duke outclassed the opposition in (lie Sockburn Handicap mid completed his tank full of running. Ife will now be in nlrong favour for the Great Autumn. RACING FIXTURES.
