TAKAPUNA grammar school OUTSTANDING PERFORMANCES. > Buckley senior champion. The annual athletic sports of the Ta.karmna Grammar School were held at the school grounds yesterday, under perflct conditions. There was a large attendance of parents and spectators, who witnessed eome first-class performances. A very high standard was maintained, especially in the boys' events, several brilliant efforts being recorded. Eight new records were established-' , Outstanding performances were registered *by |ha following;—Eade, 120 yards hurdles in 16 4-ss, 100 yardß open, in 10 l-ss, 100 yards championship, in 10 2-ss, 220 yards championship in 23 l-ss, 880 yards in 2m 11 8-ss; Waters, sft. lin. in the high jump; Buckley, 19ft. 10in. in the long jump; Sale, 11 l-5s in the 100 yards under 16, and 25s in the 220 yards under 16. , The senior championship went to Buckley, who gained 28 points, while Poole was runner-up with 19 points. R. Eade, who ji B s won the championship for the past three years, did not contest the honours yesterday f&le secured the junior championship with 23 points, and J. Stevenson was second, with 16 points. Following were thj results:—

KING'S/COLLEGE CHAMPION. MILE EVENT DECIDED. The King's College athletic championship, the mile event of which was decided at yesterday, has been won by 11. S Richardson (23 points), with J. D. Lewis (25), second. At the conclusion of last Saturday's events Richardson led from Lewis by one point and the result of the championship depended on the rm'®- 1e race was keenly contested throughout, Richardson Lewis by one and a-half yards in an exciting finish
