SCHOOL SPORTS.
MOUNT ALBERT GRAMMAR. FOUR RECORDS ESTABLISHED. SAWERS SENIOR CHAMPION. The Mount Albert Grammar School's annual sports, the preliminary race? of which wero decided on Tuesday afternoon, were concluded at the Domain yesterday afternoon in the presence of a largo attendance of parents and friends. ,The weather was threatening throughout and occasional showers were experienced. In consequenco the track suffered and was not in the best condition for outstanding performances. Nevertheless a fine standard was maintained, four records being broken while six others were eaualled. The following records were broken, the past holders and records being given in parentheses:—BßoYds handicap, W. A. Briggs, 2m G 3-5s (H. D. Ball,. 1930, 2m 10s); one mile championship, W. A. Briggs. 4m 49 4-5s (W. A. Briggs, 1929, <lm 5Gs): 440 yds handicap, open, T. C. Sawers. 57s (W. A. Briggs, 1930, 57Js); one mile relay, VI. Remove, 3m 35 3-5s (VB., 1924. 3m 43 1-53). Moses, 19?5): 220 yds handicap, open, E. M. Horan. 24s (A. M. Kirkpatrick, 1924, S. L. Moaes. 1925); 100 yds handicap, under 16, I. Grant. 11 l-5s (L. 11. Hook, 1924); 100 yds championship, under 16, I. Grant, 11 2-5s (H. M. Freeman, 1922, J. A. Mars, 1925. P. C, Sawers, 1930); 100 yds championship, under 15. J. Paterson, 11-.1-Ss (H. M. King. 192G). The senior championship cup was won by T. C. Sawers with 25 points, while Briggs and Jones were next .with 13 and 11 respectively. The junior championship cup has not been decided as there iB still the high jump e'vent to be held.
