CONDITIONS IN THE SOUTH.
Auckland.— Bright sunshine prevailed throughout the day yesterday, with a light breeze from the south-west. The barometer rose gradually all day, steadying at 30.25 toward midnight. Wellington—The fine autumn weather continued at Wellington yesterday, when it was again warm and sunny. The wind clew from the south. The evening was cool and fine. Christ church.—The weather yesterday was fine, with a south-south-west-erly breeze. The maximum temperature was 61deg. The barometer rose, the evening reading being 30.20. Dunedin.—The weather was fine witn sunshine in the afternoon. The wind was fresh from the south-west. 1 fta niaximum temperature was 56deg. l" a barometer, which- *ose steadily all d&y» registered 30.10 in: in the evening.
