SYDNEY FLYING TRAGEDY.
MACHINE STRIKES FLAGSTAFF
WELL KNOWN AIRMAN, KILLED
By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright. (Received March 15, 6.45 p.m.) SYDNEY, March 15. A tragic flying accident occurred in Sydney this morning. An aeroplane was being flown over the city while heavy rain was falling, which made the visibility bad. The machine was crossing Vaucluse Heights when it struck a flagstaff and one wing was torn off and the aeroplane crashed.
Captain Jolly, a well-known airman, who was a passenger, was killed. The pilot, Robertson, suffered a fractured skull.
