CHRISTCHURCH MEETING.
SOUTH ISLAND CHAMPIONSHIP,
[by telegraph.— press association.] CHRISTCHURCH, Saturday.
At the motor cycle races at New Brighton to-day, R. Ranby won the South Island middle-weight championship, the Brighton Handicap and the Pioneer Handicap. Jn the championship, which was over six miles, Morgan was secorul and McCleary third. It was won by 150 yds. Time, 5m 37 4-ss. Other results were: — night Car Handicap, five miles. —D. Crozier (Austin Seven), 1; 0. Ilavward (Austin Seven), 2; L. Poore (B.S.A. Nine); 3. Time, 4m 58 3-ss. Light Car Handicap, six miles.—Poore (40s), 1; Crozier (scr), 2. Time, 7m 40 2 ss.
