POLICE COURT NEWS.
MAN FINED FOR MISCHIEF.
A charge of committing mischief by wilfully damaging a plate-glass door to the extent of £2 'ls was admitted by George Alexander Paintor, aged 25, motor-driver, in the Police Court yesterday. Detective-Sergeant Kelly said accused, who was somewhat under the influence of liquor, put his fist through the glass panel of the door as he left the bar of a hotel.
The magistrate, Mr. F. Iv. Hunt, imposed a fine of 10s and ordered Paintor to make good the damage. John Reid, aged 39, fish-curer, who was charged with stealing a fishing net valued at £l4, the property of Robert Alderton, was remanded for a week on bail of £2O.
