CHILDREN'S THEATRE.
PROPOSAL AT WELLINGTON.
PLAYS FROM ENGLAND. , A decision to form a children's theatre in Wellington was made at a meeting of the Amateur Arts Society of New Zealand at Wellington this week. The president, Mr. F. H. Dawn, said that at a meeting of the drama section of the society the idea had been given enthusiastic support. He had written to the secretary of tho Children's Theatre movement in England, asking for' copies of tho most successful plays for children to be sent to Now Zealand, and also a new " toy symphony," which was snid to be much better than any of tho existing toy symphonies. The first few performances would probably bo given to special audiences befofe the plays, wero produced in public.
It was decided to hold a further meeting to arrange details.
