WEDDINGS.

CARR—ELKINGTON. On January 31 afc the Chapel Royal, Savoy, Squadron-Leader C. R. Carr, D.F.C., A.F.C., R.A.F., eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Carr, of Rotorua, was married to Miss Phyllis Elkington, vounger daughter of Mr. and Mrs. C. S. Elkington, of Red Lodge, Amersliam, Buckinghamshire, writes our London correspondent. The ceremony was conducted by the Rev. 11. B. Chapman, assisted by tho Rev. C. E. Briggs and the Rev. P. Young. The brido was given away by her father and wore a dress of cream needlerun lace, over pale pink chiffon, with transparent chiffon sleeves, and a yoke to the plain princess corsage. Her skirt was shaped into a train, and over it fell a pink silk tulle veil, held by_ a wreath of orange blossom and white heather buds. She carried a sheaf of red carnations and lilies-of-the-valley. Master Stephen and Miss Diana Elkington (nephew and niece) were in attendance, the boy wearing blue velvet trousers, with a georgette shirt, and the girl a long velvet frock of turquoise blue. She also wore a wreath of forget-me-nots, and carried a posy of blue and red flowers. The bridegroom is now attached to No. 4 Flying Training School at Abu Sueir, Egypt. In 1927 be was chosen to make an K.A.F. official attempt, on behalf of Great Britain, to win the world's nonstop flight record. His three gallant efforts failed, and he had to give up the attempt.

Ab the CJJiapol Hoyal," Savoy, tho wedding was celebrated on January 26 of Major Eric Francis Wallace Mackenzie, M.0., 0.8. E., R.A.M.C., elder son of Dr. and Mrs. F. W. Mackenzie, of Wellington, to Miss Violet May Ainsworth, elder daughter of Colonel R. B. Ainsworth, D.5.0., 0.8. E., lion, physician to the King, writes our London correspondent. The choral service was conducted by the Rev. Percy Young. Colonel Ainsworth gave away tho bride, who wore a gown of white and gold lame broche georgette and a tulle veil, held in place by a diadem of orange blossom. A bouquet of lilies-of-the-valley and white heather was carried. Miss Muriel Ainsworth was in attendance, wearing a dress of gold lace and a head-dress to correspond. She carried a bouquet of red carnations. Captain Antony Dickins, M.C,, South Staffordshire Regiment, was best man, and the groomsmen were Major E. V. Whitby, R.A.M.C., and Major G. W. Rose, R.A.M.C. Tho Chapel Royal was beautifully decorated with white lilac, spring flowers and palms. The bride s parents held a reception at the Officers' Mess of the Royal Army Medical College, Millbank. and the string hand of the Royal Army Medical Corps was in attendance. The presents included a handsome bowl from the officers' mess. The place of future residence 'of Major and Mrs, Mackenzie will be Wellington, Southern India.
