JUNIOR TENNIS PLAYERS.
CHANCES OF IMPROVEMENT.
Junior tennis players in Auckland are at present being given ample opportunity to improve their games. The junior (under 21) championships, held recently, showed that there 's much fine talent offering, and the excellent entries and fine conditions should have been the means of improving the standard of play. For the younger juniors coaching is being carried out at the Domain courts at 10 o'clock for boys, and at 11 o'clock for girls. These are mass classes in stroke production and in the important elements of play. Too much stress cannot be laid on the necessity for correct stroke production, which, when combined with court tactics, should in.Henallv improve young Aucklanders' play. Further coaching are being held at the volley boards at Stanley Street. Classes are held at four o'clock on Mondays for girls and at four o'clock on Wednesdays for boys. Here, stroke production is carried one step further, and the young player learns to employ the swing and use his feet. The secondary school championships are in full swing. The boys play at Stanley Street, and the girls at Remucra cacti Saturday morning. The primary school children also are being well catered for. A certain number will obtain instruction at. the Domain courts on Saturdays. The primary school championships will be held at the Parnell courts next Saturday.
