AUCKLAND ASSOCIATION.
RE-ENGAGEMENT OF COACH.
MATTER DEFERRED FOR WEEK,
The question of whether the Auckland Cricket Association wished to re-engage the Sussex professional, A. F. Wensley, as player-coach, was raised by Mr. H. Watts at a meeting of the management committee last evening. Mr. E. E. Nalder presided. It. was resolved to defer the matter until next week's meeting.
There were soveral suggestions as to what should be done with the two playing Saturdays left st the completion of the senior grade competition on March 21. Mr. H. Duncan was of the opinion that two representative matches be played between teams c losen from t.he A and B sections in the senior grade competition, these tenmß to bo selected by the Auckland selectors. This suggestion waji adopted.
The Waikato Association wrote regretting its inability to agree to Auckland's further request that the suggested match to be played against the Waikato representatives in Hamilton be a two-days, fixture. This docision was due to the difficulty in gaining leave for the Waikato players. - Mr. Nalder said it would not be worth while sending an Auckland team to Hamilton for the one day. The committee decided not to go any further in the matter.
The secretary reported that the total shares subscribed to date in Auckland in the New Zealand Cricket. Limited, totalled 995.
The committee decided that play should cease at 5.45 p.m. on March 21.
The University Club was granted permission to play its annual match with Victoria College at Eden Park on April 3, 4 and 6. Following are the senior fixtures for Saturday

Whangarei fared very badly and was dismissed for 38 runs. The visitors, who have been accustomed to concrete wickets, could not judge the pace of the slower wicket at Eden Park.
