UNEMPLOYMENT FUNDS.
Sir,—Whilo all have to find the money for th» unemployed men, it is up to tho power!) that be to see it spent for useful purposes. Ido not intend to find fault, but I fail to see what is the good of some work that is being done. Take the clearing of gorse, blackberry and scrub from the front of lands. It is the landholders' place by law to clear and keep clear all road frontage. They should pay for it, not all the taxpayers. As well lay gas mains and let the Gas Company have the men on No. 5 terms. Let us have useful work or nothing. Unemployed.
