RAILWAY SERVANTS' RENTS
ADJUSTMENT TO BE MADE.
OFFICER APPOINTED. [by telegraph.—riiEss association.] "WELLINGTON, Tuesday. Th« Minister of Railways, the Hon. W. A. Veitch, announced to-day that a senior officer of the department had been deputed to investigate tho rents of railway dwellings, with a view to removing anomalies.
Tho Minister said that while the new method of calculating such rents was much more equitable than the old system, it was apparent that in some cases the rents to be imposed wero too high. The officer had been authorised to readjust .all cases in which the rents to be charged were excessive.
