SHARES IN LIMITED COMPANY.

NORTH SHORE IMPROVEMENTS

That a telegram be sent, to the New Zealand Cricket Council advising that tho Auckland quota of share:! ill New Zealand Cricket, Limited, totalled 1000 to date was tho text of a motion passed at a. meeting of tho management committee of the Auckland Cricket Association last ovening. It was also decided to notify tho council that the association was making every endeavour to gain Auckland's full quota of shares, namely, 1500.

Now Zealand Cricket, Limited, expressed its thanks for '.ho association's genorosity in taking up 250 shares. Reference was made by tho chairman to the recent death at Christchurch of Mr. J. S. Barrett, tho association's representative on the New Zealand Council. Mr. Nalder said that Mr. C. A. Snedden, a member of tho committee, who was at present in Christchurch, had been requested to attend tho funeral os the association's representative. A motion of sympathy was passed, tho members standing in silence.

The W.iikato Association wroto .regrotting that it had to decline Auckland's invitation for a match at Eden Park on March 27 and OS, but suggested that an Auckland eleven visit Hamilton for a whole-day match on March 23. Tho matter w.ib discussed and deferred until tho next meeting for decision.

The Devonport Borough Council wrote stating, as a result of tho association's request, that every endeavour was being made to eradicate tho growth of the paspalum weed in tho Devonport Domain. A number of unemployed men had been put on the work, starting on Monday last. Dr. H. C. Bennett reported that arrangements had been made by the North Shoro Club to supply seed for sowing tho baro patches left after weeding, also a horse and dray to help with the carting of tho soil. It was decided to write to the Devonport Council thanking it for tho prompt attention given the matter, also to tho North Shoro Club for its help.

The annual cricket matches between the Rotorua High School and Takapuna Grammar School wcro played at the Devonport Domain yesterday afternoon under equally conditions, and resulted in a win for lakapuna's senior and junior teams on the nrst innings.
