VIVID IMAGINATION.
SHEEP IN NEW ZEALAND. "DRIVEN INTO THE SEA." New Zealand farmers will be interested to learn that their present difficulties have been greatly exaggerated'in at least one Australian newspaper. The Melbourne Age of January 12 printed the following "news" item in the form of ;i cablegram from Wellington:— " Fanners are driving their sheep from the hills into the sea owing to lack of feed and wa>r. At a stock sale sheep Could not be sold at 6d each."
The correspondent it is pointed out was di awing on his imagination since the worst that happened at that time was that at the Gislior.ne stock sale on January 10 a line of 100 poor-conditioned sheep told at 8d each. 1
