POLICE IN BAVARIA. NINE MEN LOSE LIVES. BERLIN. Jan. 21. An avalanche engulfed a squad of Bavarian police who were practising on skis in the mountains at Badoelz. A party of 200 rescuers, who worked throughout the night with torches, at imminent peril to themselves, dug them out at daybreak. Nine of the police were frozen to death, and six are missing.
