At a meeting of the Australian Swimming Union it was questioned whether W. Cameron should bo sent to represent Australia at the Empire Games. It was resolved to send a letter to the Olympic secretary protesting against Cameron's selection. Cameron came to Australia from New Zealand a few weeks prior to his selection.

The replayed matches in the first round for tho Scottish Association Cup resulted as follows:—Airdrie 6, Dunfermline 1; Raith 1, Morton 1, after extra time had been played. In the third division of the English League, Southern section, Torquay United drew with Bournemouth, 4-4. In the Rugby Union matches the Navy beat Bristol, 8-0; the Royal Air Force drew with Cambridge University, 19-19. Under Northern Union rules Leeds beat Featherstone 17-0, and Broughton beat Batley, 3-2.

GRIMMETT AS AN AUTHOR. INQUIRY BY THE BOARD. BRISIHNE. Jan. 22. Grimmett is now occupying the critical attention of the Board of Cricket Control. Grimmett has been asked to explain why his book, written during the tour of England, was published in part in the Australian papers. The matter will be dealt with afc the May meeting of the board.

PROFESSIONAL TENNIS. PROPOSED TOUR OF AUSTRALIA. MELBOURNE, Jan. 22. Tho Australian Lawn Tennis Association has received a cablegram from W. T. Tilden, stating that he is planning to make a tour of Australia lato in 1931 or early in 1932, if satisfactory terms can be arranged. Tho team would consist of four players. A message from New York states that Francis Hunter has joined tho ranks of the professionals. Ho will make his debut with Tilden at Madison Square Garden on February 18.
