HERALD'S SPECIAL FORECAST. FAIR TO FINE TEMPORARILY. The following weather forecast for 24 hours from 7 a.m. to-day was supplied by Mr. H. M. Vincent last evening:—Th& recent depression has now passed eastward. but there aro indications for the development of a secondary depression on the eastern Tastnan Sea. Expect fair to fino weather temporarily, then clouding over, and further rain following in the Waikato and western districts. Additional heavy rain is expected to follow in the north, accompanied by scattered thunderstorms. Temperatures will become warm again and atmospheres humid. South-westerly winds, light to moderate, veering by west to north, then freshening. Seas becoming rough and increasing again southward from Caps Egmont. Local outlook: Fair to fine temporarily, then becoming cloudy and unsettled, and rain following.

Tho Government meteorologist reported last evening as follows:—An anti-cyclone is moving on to northern New Zealand, but .1 fresh, deep depression is advancing toward south-eastern Australia. Indications are for moderate south-westerly winds, veering later to west and northwest in. and south of Cook Strait, and fi eshening considerably. Seas in New Zealand waters smooth to moderate, but rising to-morrow in Cook and Foveaux Straits. Winds veering to northerlies in the eastern Tasrnan and freshening, seas smooth to moderate. Weather fair to fino at first "practically g<<f!eraily, but unsettled conditions again setting in in the far south by morning, and extending gradually along the west coast of the South Island. Temperatures rising to-" morrow.
