NEW BRIDGE IN BRITAIN.
CENTRAL LIFTING SPAN. LONDON. Jan. 1. Dorman, Long and Co., Ltd., builders of tho Sydney Harbour Bridge, have secured the contract for the Tees Bridge at Newport, which will cost £616,000. It will be the only bridge in Britain having a central span lifting vertically to allow ships to pass.
