MISHAP TO AEROPLANE.
OVERTURNED WHEN LANDING OCCUPANTS ESCAPE INJURY. [BY TELEGRAPH—own correspondent.] KAWHIA, Friday. When landing near Kawhia this morning, the De Souter monoplane Aorangi, owned by the Waikato Aviation Company, ran into a soft patch of sand and turned completely over. The machine, which had flown from Tauvanga this morning, was piloted by Mr. S. Blackmore, of Hamilton, who was accompanied by Messrs. Blennerhasset and J. Henry, all of whom escaped without injury. The landing ground is perfectly safe under normal conditions but the high morning tide had not, receded sufficiently to permit an adequate runway. The machine which was used by Messrs. Piper and Kay in their flight from England to Australia, is not, seriously damaged beyond a broken jprcpellcr and a slight injury to one of tho wings. All movable gear has been dismantled and tho machine will bo taken to Kawhia for repairs.
