A large mirror fell in the house of Mr. John Cook, Southend, England, during the night recently, and smashed >n the fireplace. The broken cord took fiic and set the hearthrug alight. .The flames fpUd and most of th. /"""too m room was destroyed before ™£ouus, who formed » chain v»itu water, put out the flames. '
