HERBERT—THE HEDGEHOG.
(New Year ]nlrospe< tion.) Hp's a hpfty little hedge hog As yet unknown to fame. He has three Hitches (quietly). For Herbert is Ins name. He does not crave, a mansion, lln has not got, a hutch, Hut where he sleeps and manicures. Poos not matter much. He lias a spiky armour To use, in self-defence, But not, like words to sfah ona When things are too intense. At motor-cycles speeding He never turns a quill. But rolls himself into a l>a!l And meditates at will. He's never peeved or prejudiced, And does not care for pelf, But when things rather "come at him ' Retires into himself. Oh. Let us he like Herbert Through nineteen-t hirty-one, And try such introspection When clouds obscure our sun. —By 808 LAWLOT?
