SENSATION IN COURT.

JURY'S VERDICT MISTAKEN. RIVETTER'S HAMMER TO BLAME. The deafening noise of a rivetter's hammer in an adjoining building in course of construction was responsible for a dramatic scene recently in a Vancouver court, where Archibald Scott, accused of manslaughter, was awaiting the verdict of the jury. The rivettor's hammer made its earsplitting racket as the jury foreman pronounced the verdict, and through the din only the word "guilty" was audible. " Scott," began the judge, " the jury has found you guilty " Scott fell in a dead faint. " Not guilty, Your Honor! " shouted ono of the jurymen above the clatter. Scott, however, was not revived until lie reached hospital, when the mistake was explained to him.
